Luis Freitas graduated in Law from the University of Lisbon.

He is currently Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Management, Lusophone University, Director of Undergraduate and Graduate SHT, also collaborating as a guest in several institutes of higher education lecturer. He is invited expert of the European Commission in several European projects. Chairs the APSET – Portuguese Association of Safety and Hygiene at Work.

Held various management positions in various companies, including the post of Director of Portugal Telecom OSH – Health Care Association. He was a member of the White Paper Commission on Services of Prevention (1999). He is the author of several works in the field of OSH, including the Safety and Health of Work Manual, edited by Syllabus in 2008.
